The Jury

We've assembled an all-star jury to judge the photo and video submissions at the Trail Vision Awards. Our prestigious jury will select winners for the Best Overall Bike Photo/Video and Best Overall Non-bike Photo/Video categories. The People's Choice category will be up to you, the audience.

SHELBY LING

Shelby Ling is an illustrator and designer who hails from Southern California. She currently designs custom apparel for Specialized Bicycles and spends her time sewing, riding bikes, running, and attempting to bake bread. She likes collecting furniture, house plants, and spending time in her garden.

DAIN ZAFFKE

Dain Zaffke is an avid rider and photographer. A 20-year veteran of the bike industry, Zaffke learned to appreciate mountain bike imagery as art when he was an editor at Bike Magazine. These days he manages the marketing department at Giro Sport Design.

SARIS MERCANTI

Saris Mercanti is the Marketing Manager at Ibis Cycles. Her career as a critic began during sophomore year of highschool, when she was elected Photo Editor of the Yearbook.
In addition to producing #sickshredits and imagery for outdoor brands, her words and images have also appeared in numerous cycling related publications.

DON PALERMINI

Don Palermini is longtime veteran of the bike industry holding positions at some of your favorite brands and media outlets. His day job is making marketing magic happen at Santa Cruz Bicycles, and in his free time he practices the art of taking perfect trailside selfies and making witty comments on social media.

AMANDA SCHAPER

Amanda Schaper has been a marketing pro in the bike industry for nearly a decade, and she's collaborated with many of the industry's best photographers and filmmakers. She's currently leading MBOSC's marketing efforts, and when she's not at her desk, she's riding trails, at her sewing machine, or living the #vanlife.

MORGAN MEREDITH

Morgan Meredith has a keen eye when it comes to storytelling and creative expression, which has earned him positions such as Publisher for Bike Mag and Creative Director for Santa Cruz Bicycles. He always pushes the boundaries of content marketing while fostering creativity and striving for absolute perfection.

LAURA COOK

Laura Cook has had a long career in the photo industry, which has honed her skills in the visual arts and styling to the point where it is instinct. She has worked with an amazing list of prestigious clients, in industries spanning from home goods to fashion to outdoor brands. She is the co-founder of Offsite Studio.

MICHAEL MOORE

Michael Moore has been a fixture in bicycle retail in Santa Cruz for over 25 years. He earns a living as General Manager for the Bicycle Trip stores. Days off are spent at home in the garden or riding bikes; road, gravel and mountain. He recently started sharing the profound joy of pedaling with his wife, on a tandem.

TIM SAWYER

Tim Sawyer is an Art Director/Designer. His creative experience traverses a wide arc from Chicago advertising agencies to Silicon Valley startups to Bay Area non-profits, among many others. He currently runs his own design business in Santa Cruz. He spends his free time riding and racing and then over analyzing his Strava account.
